It's been a busy night - Sherrie Saint John is sitting across from me typing up a lengthier report. I'll just say now that the tournament room is looking almost ready for the start of tomorrow's play, that it was a thrill to be in a room with a hundred Scrabble players from around the world, and that I can't believe how hard everyone is working at this. Late changes to the roster: Amnuay "King of Thai Scrabble" Ploysangngam failed to qualify, and has been replaced by Gerry "Don't call me Gerald" Carter (THA); Salah Fadl Mohamed Salih replaces Gonzalez (SAU); and Ifeanyi "Iffy" Onyeonnu replaces Olaleru (NGA). James Flomo (LIB) is still missing; if he arrives in the next six hours, he and Jim Kramer will get to play. Sherrie has been busy with her digital camera (a Casio QV-10A), some early results of it can be found at the web site. Many more to come, still awaiting format conversion.
