Round 7 Table 1 pits Wapnick (CAN) against Esther Perrins (AUS). Table 2 begins an interesting phenomenon: a sea of red shirts, and a couple of green ones too. There is at least one member of the GBR team at almost every table from 2 to 9. Table 2: Saldanha (GBR) vs. Byers (GBR) Table 3: Acton (GBR) vs. Bhandarkar (BHR) Table 4: Nyman (GBR) vs. Lipton (USA) Table 6: Webb (GBR) vs. Yawo (GHA), the Gunning Ghanaian Table 7: Fisher (GBR) vs. Grant (NZ) Table 8: Williams (GBR) vs. Mead (USA) Table 9: Grayson (GBR) vs. Tiekert (USA) As we understand it, a most interesting additional tidbit is that Esther Perrins, the sister of Russell Byers (GBR), is originally from GBR herself. An almost complete Table 1 to Table 9 GBR domination! It is worth mentioning that Williams and Grayson are from Wales. Table 1, Joel Wapnick (CAN) makes a play keeping FRR on his rack. He picks EEST and then plays FERRATES for a double-double totaling 94 points, and then he picks up the blankNow we know why he is at table 1, right? This reporting compliments of the hovering duo of Marlon Hill and Jan Dixon. On his next play, with this blank, he made FOrEKING. Well, this round was very good for the GBR teamall except for Esther, who lost to Wapnick. At 7-0, he has the only perfect record. David Boys (CAN) has hit a slump, as has Joe Edley (USA). Both are 4-3. Brian Cappelletto (USA) is 3-4, and so is Jim Nanavati (CAN). I promise more reports tomorrow. Signing off, Sherrie saint@mit.edu P.S. If you've lasted this long (and why would you?), my aforementioned technical problems resulted in all of today's news being retyped into a functioning laptop. ALL of this reportage was typed by Adam Logan (CAN), who is due one major back rub. Thanks to Adam, he's the best.
