Adam Logan (CAN) lost last round to Ganesh Asirvatham (MYS), so for the first time since round 3, we have a non-Adam first board: Ganesh is playing Paul Cleary (AUS). Gerald Carter (THA) plays Andrew Fisher (AUS) at Table 2, Adam just beat Jerry Lerman (USA) in a quick game at Board 3 to temporarily regain first place.

Panupol Sujjayakorn (Wsc) just beat Nigel Richards (NZL) 445-413 way down at Board 11. I raced over there to see the final position, but they had already put the tiles back in a 10x10 grid, and the players were sitting (needless to say quietly) at the table.

Stewart Holden was showing off a hot-off-the-presses hardbound copy of the new Collins Official SCRABBLE® Dictionary. Apparently each player will receive a free copy. It's about the size of the old Chambers English Dictionary, but with bigger type, and (I believe) only one definition per word.
